Alta Apartments was built in 1972 by Bliss and Alta Allred. They owned land and orchards in the area and decided to build an apartment complex to house single BYU & UVU students. They wanted to leave a legacy for their family. Bliss named the complex Alta after his wife. Alta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an amazing woman who did endless service for her family and community.
